How many librarians does it take to change a lightbulb?

Humor time! Funny question! And IFLA answered this question, too at this library humour page: http://archive.ifla.org/I/humour/humour.htm

I realized today that I had answered so many questions, “it depends” that I thought it sounded funny. So I decided to make it the punch line.

Q: How many librarians does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: It depends on where the light bulbs came from and what they’re needed for.

So I posted this on Facebook, and friends brainstormed other answers:

A: It depends on where the light bulbs came from, what they’re needed for, and if they meet current standards.

A: We don’t know. We’ll form a committee to study it and get back to you.

A: I don’t know, let me chat with a librarian – available 24/7 – and get back to you.

A: Two: one to find a book about how to change a light bulb, and one to actually do it.

A: Is the answer on wikipedia?

A: Most likely 645.5, but you might also try 808.882.

A: You can’t read in that kind of light you’ll hurt your eyes!
