- I like the YALSA blog (http://blogs.ala.org/yalsa.php). I'll also put in a plug for the ICFL blog (http://www.lili.org/blog/) and The Scoop (http://www.lili.org/scoop/).
- About Me
It's hard for me to believe, but I've been with the Idaho Commission for Libraries for almost 15 years now. I'm a native Idahoan who was hired as the Commission's Public Information Officer shortly after moving to Boise. I've been lucky enough to be able to co-coordinate the Read to Me program since 1997 and work on a Master's in Reading Education to learn more about early literacy practices. How kids learn to read is a subject I find fascinating and have enjoyed watching more Idaho libraries take part in Read to Me activities over the years. I have two digital natives at home (Aaron, age 11 and Addie, age 8) and am trying to keep up with the technology that is such a big part of their lives.
- If I were invited to a costume party, I would come dressed as _______ because _______
If I were invited to a costume party today, I would come dressed as Curious George because we have 25 costumes arriving here in time for Idaho Family Reading Week and I don't know what we'll do with them if more libraries don't check them out! It would also give me a chance to talk up the need for state funding for the Read to Me program during this year's legislative session. I'm all about cross-marketing programs, plus I'm not skinny enough to fit into the LiLI costume!
