Portable Apps!

Today I learned about a great open source program today called Portable Apps. Now you can carry your favorite computer programs along with all of your bookmarks, settings, email and more. Use them on any Windows computer without leaving any personal data behind. You can save this program on a flash drive and have your favorite programs with you at all times. This is especially useful for people that work at places that won’t allow you download programs to your computer. To download this for free or to learn more go to:http://portableapps.com/

Special thanks to William Nation of BPL for telling me about this great program.

Great tip, Melody! This is a really handy trick for carrying your favorite programs and customized settings with you wherever you go. Of course, the flipside of this is that the computer must let you access your flash drive and I know of some libraries that lock out this sort of access on their public machines. So, you might want to test it out at your library on your public computers to make sure that the public can make use of these nifty portable tools!
